Neylerin üst ve alt ucuna çatlamayı önlemek için çeşitli metâllerden yapılmış, kamışa sıkıca giren birer bilezik takılır. Bu bileziklere parazvâne adı verilir. Metâller altın, gümüş, bakır, vs. olabilir. Ancak gümüş, bakır gibi metâller oksitlendiğinden hava ile irtibatları kesilmelidir.

The rings made of various metals and tightly attached around the upper and lower end of a ney in order to prevent cracking are called parazvâne. It can be made of gold, silver, copper, etc. But metals such as silver or copper oxidize so they should be isolated from air.

Bizim tavsiye edeceğimiz metâl Alpaka'dır.

We recommend using alpaca.

Neyin üst ucuna takılan üst parazvâne, (en üstteki boğum aynı zamanda ses kutusu olduğundan) 0.40 mm den kalın ve 14 mm den geniş olmamalıdır. Alt parazvâne istenilen kalınlıkta ve genişlikte olabilir.

The upper parazvâne attached around the upper end of the ney should not be thicker than 0.40 mm and wider than 14 mm (because the upper node is the sound box at the same time). The lower parazvâne can be as thick and wide as desired.
